What Is Microneedling?
Microneedling is a minimally invasive strategy for clearing up acne scars, lessening fine lines and wrinkles, and fading stretch marks. The treatment uses small needles to prick skin, prompting the creation of healing collagen.
Who Benefits from Microneedling?
Clients consider microneedling therapy for a number of reasons. For example:
Tighten and lift skin
Lessen skin discoloration
Diminish acne scarring
Reduce fine lines and wrinkles
Fade stretch marks
How Does Microneedling Work?
How can a little pen combat scars, wrinkles, and stretch marks?
Here at Glow Aesthetic Center Encino we use microneedling tool like the Rejuvapen, to make microscopic pricks on the skin. Those mini-needles the pen uses perforate the epidermis and the top layer of the dermis, holes so tiny that you can’t see them with the naked eye. Your skin realizes it must heal the injuries, so collagen and elastin flood the area, where they begin to regenerate and renew your skin.
Following your treatment, your skin may feel warm and a little tight, and you may see redness or pinkness like a sunburn, but this usually recedes after about a day. Your clinician may recommend a balm or serum to lessen your discomfort after your treatment.
Is MicroNeedling Safe and Effective?
Microneedling prompts your body to produce collagen which allows your skin to heal itself. A study in the Journal of Cutaneous and Aesthetic Surgery discovered that 80% of microneedling participants said that the reduction of their facial scars was “excellent” following two months of treatment; the participants did not mention any negative side effects. In addition, Lutronic did a study of about 500 participants and determined that “the results obtained after the final [micro needling] treatment session continued to improve over time, and patient satisfaction with the procedure was very high with excellent compliance.”
What Is Rejuvapen®?
Rejuvapen® is microneedling treatment known as dermal collagen remodeling that prompts your skin to produce collagen. Not only will Rejuvapen® improve the look of your skin’s wrinkles and fine lines, it can treat hyperpigmentation, stretch marks, and acne scarring. Because this microneedling treatment aids in your skin’s collagen production, it can even get rid of sun damage. You can see your skin look healthier than it has in years with Rejuvapen®.
When Can I See Results?
Your skin might appear healthier immediately after your Rejuvapen® treatment, but remember that dermal collagen remodeling takes some time to complete. The damage to your skin took years to create, so it makes sense that it will take a while for your skin to repair itself. Glow Aesthetic Center offers a set of four to six sessions, depending on your skin’s individual needs. Your skin will repair itself over a period of several weeks. For some people, the final results are not visible for three to six months.
What Benefits Can I Expect to See?
Rejuvapen® can have many benefits—new collagen production may lessen fine lines and wrinkles, wipe out your skin’s sun damage, and clear away acne scars, hyperpigmentation, and stretch marks.
What Is the Downtime?
Your total healing time may vary, depending on how severe your skin’s damage was and how deep the Rejuvapen® repair was. Most individuals have a little red or pink tinge to their skin, much like a mild sunburn, for two to four days, but some clients heal totally in one day.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
Each client’s treatment goals and their skin’s health, will help their clinician decide how many treatments they will need. Clients most often require six treatments, with about one month healing time between each. For clients with deep wrinkles, or severe acne scars, stretch marks, or sun damage, we recommend up to eight sessions at four to six weeks apart. Maintaining that glow over the long-term may require future visits, so a plan can be made for that.
