Encino Filler Treatment

Dermal fillers are used by more than one million men and women in the U.S., according to the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery. These gel-like injectables are designed to plump up areas like cheeks and lips that lose volume as you age. They are also able to smooth wrinkles that occur because of the loss of tissue volume. As we get older, the loss of tissue volume typically results in sagging skin. By plumping up strategic areas of the face, you can restore that youthful vitality you’ve been missing.

Getting your Encino dermal filler treatment is quick and easy. There may be slight discomfort from the injection but nothing long-lasting. In fact, you’ll be in and out of Glow Aesthetic Center before you know it. To schedule your Encino filler treatment, call us today at (818) 905-8815 or fill out our online contact form. Led by Dr. Homan Siman, our medical staff is dedicated to providing top-quality aesthetic services in the local Encino, California area.

Types of Dermal Fillers

Fillers are used by cosmetic surgeons and beauticians in a variety of ways. While lip fillers may be the most common, fillers can also help other areas of the body, including your:

  • Cheeks
  • Buttocks
  • Hands
  • Under the eyes

At Glow Aesthetic Center, our clinicians use Juvéderm, Radiesse, and Sculptra injectable fillers. These injectables are safe and come with different ingredients that target different issues. What follows is a list of the more popular ingredients used in dermal fillers across the world.

Hyaluronic Acid

One of the most common ingredients used in dermal fillers is hyaluronic acid (HA). This is a natural molecule that is synthesized in your body already. However, as we age, hormonal changes can affect its production. HA is partially responsible for skin moisturization, as it has a lot to do with the retention of water molecules. As our HA production goes down as we age, the end result is that our skin becomes saggier and begins to dry out. Many of the dermal fillers used by our clinicians at Glow Aesthetic Center use hyaluronic acid as the active ingredient.

Poly-L-lactic Acid

Sculptra is a dermal filler that uses Poly-L-lactic acid. A safe substance for use in the body, Poly-L-lactic acid works differently than hyaluronic acid. Instead of replacing the lost volume itself, this injectable is designed to safely dissolve in the body within a short period. Before it fully dissolves, however, it acts as an enzyme to stimulate the body’s own collagen production. The end result is the same: a fuller, healthier look.

Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA)

Some fillers use this ingredient as their active element. Suspended as microscopic particles in a gel, CaHA is also found naturally in our bodies. As a filler, it is used on deeper wrinkles and lines and stimulates collagen production. It is also a thicker filler. Results usually last a bit longer than hyaluronic acid fillers, sometimes even up to a full year.

Results that Last

One of the top questions we get at Glow Aesthetic Center is how long an Encino filler treatment will last. Unfortunately, nothing lasts forever—not even a filler treatment. However, we use top-notch products designed to provide you with a youthful look for as long as possible. Typically, Juvéderm Voluma XC is the longest-lasting filler, with results proven to last up to two years.

Most fillers last roughly 18 months after your treatment. However, there are some ways you can help extend the time before you need a new injection of fresh fillers. These steps include:

  • Avoiding the Sun: While you don’t have to live like Dracula, it might be a good idea to stay inside during the hottest, brightest parts of the day. If you do venture out, protect your skin with sunscreen and a wide-brimmed hat.
  • Living Healthily: As usual, good habits tend to have widespread effects. Eating well, getting the proper amount of nutrients, drinking plenty of water, and lowering your daily stress are all ways to decrease your wrinkles and enjoy longer-lasting dermal fillers.
  • Treating Your Skin Well: Just because you have dermal fillers helping you enjoy that full, youthful appearance you want doesn’t mean your skin is good to go until your next treatment. Make sure you use moisturizer (especially if your fillers include hyaluronic acid, which loves to soak up water).
