How PDO Thread Lifts Work

Like microneedling procedures, PDO threads work by causing tiny “damage” beneath the surface of the skin. This, in turn, causes your body to produce more collagen. As your body’s most abundant protein, collagen acts as the “glue,” or structural component, that holds your skin together and helps give it that youthful glow.

The PDO Procedure

Your PDO treatment can last up to an hour long, depending on the area you want treated. The procedure is relatively simple. Our medical staff will insert a pre-loaded cannula beneath the surface of the skin, placing the thread at key points to ensure maximum effect. When the cannula is removed, the PDO threads stay behind. While you likely will see an immediate lift and tightening of the face, the true effects will be seen in time as your body grows additional collagen around the threads. In a few months, your skin will actually absorb and dissolve the threads, leaving nothing behind but the collagen.
