Regenerative Therapy

What Is Regenerative Medicine?

In regenerative medicine, also called regenerative cellular medicine, stem cells are utilized to activate the body’s innate ability to heal and restore tissue harmed by aging, injury, or disease. While some treatments focus only on symptoms, regenerative cell therapy assists the body in its normal healing process, helping to rebuild degraded tissue.

What Are Mesenchymal Cells?

Mesenchymal cells (MSC) are multipotent stromal cells. This means they are able to change into a wide range of cell types, such as muscles cells (myocytes), cartilage cells (chondrocytes), bone cells (osteoblasts), and fat cells which can turn into marrow adipose cells (adipocytes). MSCs are located in umbilical cords found in delivered placentae. These cells are favored over other s therapies due to their ability to treat diverse diseases and injuries.

What Conditions Can Be Treated with MSC?

  • Spinal cord injury (SCI)
  • Traumatic brain injury (TBI)
  • Injuries to joints, cartilage, ligaments, or bones
  • Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and osteoarthritis
  • Cerebral palsy
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Autism
  • Blood disorders
  • Cardiovascular conditions
  • Disorders of the eye
  • Hearing loss
  • Autoimmune diseases
  • Metabolic disorders
  • Preventative care
  • Clients of any age may be treated

How Many Treatment Sessions Are Required?

Naturally, this depends on the client and their condition, but most of our clients find their condition substantially improves following just one treatment session. After an exam and learning your complete medical history, Onsite’s clinician will determine the right dose for you.

Where Are the MSCs Sourced From?

Healthy mothers donate umbilical cords, which are shipped, per FDA requirements, in dry polyethylene containers to our distributor in Orange County, where the cords are cryopreserved and MSCs are extracted.

What Is the Procedure?

MSC treatment is an outpatient procedure, lasting 30 to 45 minutes depending on the condition and form of administration. Clients usually experience immediate relief, followed by the body’s healing process. MSC treatment can be given in a variety of ways, contingent upon the client’s condition:

  • Injection into joints, which is given by a licensed physician
  • Lumbar puncture (intrathecal) is a special type of injection directly into the spine, administered by a neurologist. This is best for pain management and certain neurological conditions; it may require anesthesia
  • Angiogram methods, administered by a cardiologist, are utilized for treatment of organs. They require anesthesia.

How Much Does It Cost?

The short answer is that it depends. The type of procedure, dosage, and number of treatment sessions all factor into your cost. After your consultation, your Onsite clinician will be able to give you a quote.
