As our bodies age, our collagen production naturally diminishes. This can lead to vaginal laxity, intermittent incontinence due to stress, and other problems. The good news is that ThermiVa is a painless, quick procedure that can increase collagen production, tighten the area, and even help with low libido or decreased sexual satisfaction.
Glow Aesthetic Center provides patients in Woodland Hills with customized ThermiVa treatment plans. When we meet you for the first time, we’ll go over your specific goals and body type, creating a plan just for you. Head over to our Book an Appointment page to get started on your path to vaginal rejuvenation! Or call our office at (818) 905-8815 to speak with a team member.
Is ThermiVa Right for You?
Yes! Women of all ages can benefit from ThermiVa. The procedure uses radio waves to stimulate the production of collagen fibers. This not only helps with laxity but also results in healthier skin and tissues. Some of our patients use ThermiVa for:
- Solving orgasmic dysfunction
- Reducing stress-related incontinence
- Decreasing vaginal laxity
- Reducing vaginal or vulvar dryness
- Developing softer and smoother skin
Whether you want to improve sexual function or reverse unwanted effects from childbirth, ThermiVa is the solution you’re looking for.
How ThermiVa Works
This procedure relies on radio waves to agitate or stimulate the collagen fibers in your skin and tissues. Collagen is the most abundant protein in your body and is responsible for providing a firm, glue-like structure to your organs (including your skin). New, more invigorated collagen fibers can result in tighter, firmer skin and tissue.
The Procedure Is Quick and Painless
You might be worried about how much pain you’d experience in this sensitive area. Unlike other types of vaginal rejuvenation techniques, ThermiVa is totally painless. Most patients report that it feels similar to a warm massage.
The entire process will last merely a half-hour to 45 minutes. Better yet, there is no associated downtime and you will be able to drive yourself home and get on with your daily routine.
ThermiVa Is Safe
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved ThermiVa for vaginal rejuvenation procedures, according to the MassDevice Medical Network. The radiofrequency technology used in these sessions is totally safe, with NO reported side effects that have plagued other techniques. That means:
- NO burns or blisters
- NO risk of transmission (we use disposable items unique to each patient)
- NO nerve damage
- NO skin punctures
The team at Glow Aesthetic Center always provides patients with a sterile, clean room for any medical or cosmetic procedure. When you come in for your session with ThermiVa, your aesthetician will simply attach disposable electrodes to the area. These then transmit radio waves through your skin, creating a warm sensation. No pain and no risk!
How to Prepare for Your Treatment
There are steps that you should take before coming in for your first ThermiVa session. At your initial consultation with our medical team, we’ll discuss any specific preparations you should make. These are a few general guidelines:
Stay Hydrated
It’s always best to drink lots of water at least 24 hours prior to your treatment. Hydration is key to your body’s cellular health.
Pre-Session Regimen
Before you come in for your treatment, you’ll need to make sure the area is clean and dry. That means no makeup, no moisturizers or creams, and no other topical lotions. It should be cleanly shaven as well. If you use laser or wax treatments, make sure to do so at least a week before your ThermiVa session to avoid irritation.
Also, please remove any piercings or jewelry before your appointment.
Inform Your Medical Team
Our staff, led by Dr. Homan Siman, needs to be aware of any ongoing medical issues that might affect your treatment. When you come in for your initial consultation, let us know about anything relevant to your medical history or to ThermiVa, including:
- Electronic implant devices, such as pacemakers
- Pregnancy
- Any infection in the area, including urinary tract infections
- Any wounds in or around the area
- Other implanted devices, such as intrauterine devices (IUDs)
