Filler Treatment Aftercare
We recommend taking a few steps in the days after your dermal filler treatment. When you come in for your initial consultation, our team of board-certified practitioners will go over all the steps you should take to experience the best results.
Facial Massages
Avoid any strenuous facial massages or skincare routines in the 48 hours following your injectable treatments. These activities can cause bruising or slight bleeding under the skin.
Pain Relievers
Some discomfort is normal after filler injections, though the pain should be minimal. If you need to take any painkillers, make sure to avoid NSAIDs and supplements with blood-thinning properties, such as:
- Aspirin
- Advil
- Ibuprofen
It’s also acceptable to use an ice pack intermittently to reduce swelling and pain.
Makeup and Moisturizers
You should be able to return to your usual makeup and skincare routine the same day as your filler treatments. However, wait at least 45 minutes after your session before applying creams, makeup, or lotions to the treatment area.
